The NVPCUG was founded in 1982 by a small group of people who wanted to share their experiences using personal computers. Some of the founding members are still active in the group. The NVPCUG incorporated as a publicly funded non-profit community benefit and educational corporation in 2002. In July 2007 the NVPCUG received a final ruling from the IRS determining that we are a IRC 501 (c) (3) Public Charity. To see a copy of that letter Click Here.
The NVPCUG's primary goal is to share information and experience in using personal computers in an effort to help others to understand and get the best use of a personal computer.
The NVPCUG publishes a newsletter, the "Computer News" which is filled with current articles that relate to computing. By becoming a member of the group you will receive a link to the current PDF copy by e-mail each month. To read some of our past newsletters the "Computer News" online Click Here.
The NVPCUG was involved in several community related projects like our former Computers to Schools program. This program took donated computers and refurbished them. Then with the assistance of the Napa Valley Unified School District, Napa County Department of Education and other school districts in the area we donated these refurbished computers to the schools. Also through charities and other non-profit organizations we donated additional refurbished computers where they would do the most good. The NVPCUG formerly cosponsored the Napa City - County Computer and Electronics Recycle Events. To see some photos of the 2007 event Click Here.
The NVPCUG has a general meeting on the third Wednesday of each month. These meetings are held at the Napa Senior Activity Center which is located at 1500 Jefferson Street Napa. For information on our next meeting Click Here.
